You Are What You Eat
Ever heard of the expression, “You are what you eat”? Currently, people would rather eat would prefer a triple-quarter pounder with cheese than an apple. And what becomes of this? People become fat and out of shape at alarming rates. Putting junk food in your body is like using low-grade fuel for a 2015 Bentley Coupe; it may work short-term, but it will eventually breakdown. If you eat crap, you will look & feel like crap. There is no other way around that fact. But if you want to start looking & feeling like a luxury car, then it is time to fuel your body right. Here are tips on how to do so.
Drink More Water
Water is hands down the best fuel you can use for your body. The reason for that is because you can’t go 3 days without it! Water helps flushes out toxins out of your system; thus, revitalizing your digestive system, joints, skin, bones, muscles and every other component of your body. In addition, by drinking an adequate amount of alkaline water, you eat less food due to it occupying space in your stomach. Of course, that will greatly aid in weight loss. Aim to drink half your bodyweight in ounces of water per day.
Eat Food Rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids
Whether you get enough Omega-3 fatty acids is what separates an unproductive mind from a productive mind. Omega-3 fatty acids help your brain function properly, as well as improve cholesterol, blood pressure, and reduce levels of depression. The best source of Omega-3 is mostly in salmon and other fishes. Aim for 2 to 3 servings of fish per week. If you don’t eat enough fish per week, then invest in a fish oil supplement.
Cut Down on the Sodium & Sugar
It seems when a product is high in sugar, it usually is high in sodium as well. That is the case with most fast-food restaurant meals that many people consume on a daily basis. Too much sugar and sodium will leave you fat, bloated, lethargic, moody and….do I need to say more! So if you want to your body to run efficient like a brand-new BMW, then you got to cut down on foods & beverages that are high in sodium and sugar. You should aim to consume no more than 2000 mg of sodium and 30 grams of sugar per day.
Remember, you are what you eat. What you choose to consume on a regular basis is the difference between feeling & looking like a new luxury car or a hooptie. So choose wisely!
